Yaxha (or Yaxhá in Spanish orthography) is a Mesoamerican archaeological site in the northeast of the Petén Basin region, and a former ceremonial center and city of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. Yaxha was the third largest city in the region and experienced its maximum power during the Early Classic period (c. AD 250–600).
Our driver will come by to pick you up around 12:30. The transfer to Yaxha lasts 1 ½ hrs. The visit is accompanied by a certified guide in the archaeological zone of Yaxha. A tour will be made in the main areas and then, in the end, we will ascend to Temple 216 to appreciate the sunset and the beautiful scenery on the Laguna Yaxha. Minutes before nightfall, we return to Flores.
