Tikal (Tik’al in modern Mayan orthography) is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. It is located in the archaeological region of the Petén Basin in what is now northern Guatemala. Situated in the department of El Petén, the site is part of Guatemalan Tikal National Park and in 1979 it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Why visit: Walk in the forest with scattered Mayan buildings will give you an insight of this culture, and also a splendid experience you'll never forget.
Pick up in Flores, our representative will transfer you to the Tikal National Park.
8:00 a.m. - Start our transfer from Flores to Tikal, duration approximately 1 hour. If you order private tour, you'll be transferred to in the vehicle just for you.
9:00 a.m. - Start of the guided walking tour.
In Tikal National Park we are visiting the following locations:
- Complex Q,
- The Central Acropolis,
- South Acropolis,
- Great Plaza,
- Temple IV
- And finally the Lost World Complex.
1:30 p.m. - Lunch or no lunch according to your choice. If yes, it takes place in a restaurant inside the park.
3:30 p.m. - Departure from the park to the airport/bus/hotel. (if time permits we will visit the island of Flores)
5:30 p.m. - Return to the Mundo Maya Airport, to the bus station or your hotel accommodation.
