Yaxha | Maya World ToursYaxha (or Yaxhá in Spanish orthography) is a Mesoamerican archaeological site in the northeast of the Petén Basin region, and a former ceremonial center and city of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. Yaxha was the third largest city in the region and experienced its maximum power during the Early Classic period (c. AD 250–600).

Why visit: Combination of the ruins and nature makes this place simply breathtaking.

  • Bus Arrival from Guatemala City: 6:30 a.m.
  • Plane Arrival from Guatemala City: 7:30 a.m.

Itinerary:

Upon arrival, our representative will be waiting for you and transfer you to the Yaxha National Park.

8:00 a.m. - Start of our transfer to Yaxha, duration approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

9:30 a.m. - Upon arrival to Yaxha, we start our walking tour.

Arrival to the Yaxhá archaeological site, where recently TV-hit CBS show “Survivor” was filmed. Yaxhá is the third largest city of the Maya World in the Late Classic period.

You can enjoy excursions to the pyramids and structures restored through the jungle trails. Along the way: bird watching, plants recognizing and encounters with the famous howler and spider monkeys.

In Yaxha National Park we will be visiting the following locations:

  • Avenue of the Pilgrims,
  • Square Columns,
  • Patio IV of the South Acropolis,
  • Big Astronomical Complex,
  • Residential Group,
  • Watery Avenue,
  • building group Maler,
  • North Acropolis,
  • Plaza of The Birds,
  • The Causeway,
  • Twin Pyramid Complex
  • And the Temple of the Red Hand (structure 216).

After our sightseeing, we transfer to the restaurant.

1:30 p.m. - Lunch in a restaurant.

3:30 p.m. - Departure from the park to the airport/hotel/bus. (if time permits we will visit the island of Flores)

5:30 p.m. - Return to the Mundo Maya Airport, to the bus station or to your hotel

  • Tours that need helicopter of private fishing boat require confirmation. Please provide an email or phone to check availability.
